A Winter Angel

This was a doll I was commissioned to make for Christmas by a local family. She has long left my household because she is with her loving owners now, but I miss her. I haven't made very many dolls so she might look rough around the edges if you are a professional artist or veteran collector of customs , but I am happy with how she turned out, and the couple I made her for was thrilled. She is Ooak from my a mocha mio kit.

Since today is Candlemas, I thought this might be a good day to share the angel I made in honor of the festival of lights. I got the idea of putting candles in her hair in a wreath of flowers from one of the heroines of the American Girl series books Kirsten. I remember how special she looked on St. Lucia Day, so that was part of the inspiration.
