Adventure!

We have a really nice Botanical Gardens near the park in my town, and the other day the park(called Indian Springs) had an Indian festival. I brought my Tiger Lily, Lyris, in her stock outfit thinking maybe there would be something there I could photograph her with, but the festival was actually quite boring.

The friend that I went with and I ended up going over to the Botanical Gardens instead and I took some pictures of Lyris in the spare outfit I brought for her. I've taken my dolls there many times in the past(I have a whole album for this place on flickr with various photos from the past six or so years, if you want to check it out. ) but I haven't shared any of the photos anywhere besides flickr. I've been wanting to post more photos on the doll forums lately, so I figured I'd share some of the photos I took of Lyris at the park!

Although I did get something sharp and pointy stuck in my knee that I have yet to get out, and ended up ripping open the back of my pants completely and didn't notice until we went out to eat and someone in the restaurant pointed it out to me, it was still a very nice day. I'm sure Lyris had a much better time than I did! ^^

Oooh, I would love to have a botanical garden to take dolls to!! What a great collection of statues to pose with. Looks like a really fun outing.

Reminds me of a shipmate who completely split his shorts... had them all patched up with duct tape for most of the passage.

Sometimes soaking in a hot bath will get a thorn out. One of my enduring childhood memories is getting a thorn stuck in my heel, and being absolutely TERRIFIED when someone (Dad or Grandma? ) mentioned getting it out with a needle. Mom dumped me in a hot bath and the next thing we knew the thorn was just floating around in the water. The heat had swollen it out.

I'll definitely try that, thanks for the advice! It's starting to come up a little on its own, now, so maybe a bath will finish it off.

Lovely photoshoot! the second pose with the elephant is my favourite, she has the famous uh-oh look which seems very realistic when being lift up in the air.

Hope the thorn came out with the hot bath!!

Lyris's wig is actually Chill's stock wig that has been cut very sloppily. I've been meaning to get her a new wig forever, she's certainly earned it at this point!
