I am imagining new Veritas amongst this sea of red & gold, she would blend beautifully! The nautical history matches too
Thank you! It makes me smile when you guys enjoy the photos. I'm on 24/7 duty with an elderly invalid parent, getting out of the house at all is a Really Big Deal, and dolls are pretty much the only entertainment I get these days. Half an hour here, an hour there, late at night... I spend a lot of time sitting around, waiting. So they are great therapy.
Red Veritas... I know... she really would fit... It would be fun to take her to the pirate festival when I'm able to go again. But ooh, that price!

Dolls are -such- great therapy; my mental illness keeps me home all the time too, even just going to my yard can be tough sometimes and even though I know I won't have a real person job again, playing fashion designer and photographer is almost as good.
I'll cover my Miko's ears when I say this, but the Asian MTM Barbie might be a good match for Sunsette's mom. (Does she have a name? Is it Dawn?) I dont like obitsu bodies, such flop, I think my favorite body is type three +Obitsu arms.
(Aldo I agree with Miss Edith that new Veritas would be tight at home with your doll family!)

OK, what??? WHO TOLD YOU THAT??? o.O
Seriously, either I'm very predictable with names, or someone's psychic, because that IS actually what I was thinking of calling her I usually try to make their names something similar to stock, and had thought about something similar to Grell(e) or at least starting with G, but once she arrived, it seems she was whispering that her name might be Dawn.
Wow eh?! I guess it will have to be!
According to Cornflower Blue's pic, Asian MTM is not exact but looks as close a match as possible for now. Have to find someone going to town to look for one for me, as they're out of stock online. ("Hey, are you going to Walmart? Could you buy me a Barbie?" )
Sorry you have difficulty getting out Keep on with the dolly therapy too, and we are all here for company!

Honestly, as soon as I typed "does she have a name" the thought came to me, oh, I think she does and I think it's Dawn! Psychic maybe, I'll blame my Romani ancestors :3
I'm lucky that my agoraphobia isn't as bad as I could be, I have people that are safe in my brain to go out with (and doubly lucky that when I'm with my mom, the answer to "can we go look at the toys?" is always "um, YES")

Thank you guys I was really afraid of that marker slipping and getting ink on one or the other of them. It was a bit hard to prop up!
I should also add that on BOTH days when I shot the mailbox photos, I got busted... by my boss!! (For the few hours I'm able to work outside home.) I tried to get a few quick shots when no one was there but on both days she arrived to get her mail. The second time, I thought I'd picked Sunsette out of the box in time but then this voice from behind went "Are you taking pictures again?" It's a little odd to find someone photographing their mailbox.... She knows I take doll pictures and I told her what I was doing. She thought it was funny. She is such a lovely person, so we had a laugh.

I love how small she is. She can get lost in anything and still be cute with whatever she's doing. I like the cookie picture. If I was her size and had that many cookies in front of me I'd look like that too. Lol. Have wide eyes as I look at them. Hmmm yum, cookies -wants some now- XD

Thanks Minis are awesome for just that reason -- small enough to take anywhere in a glasses case in your bag or pocket!

Hi Everyone!
My mom got her new body last night. We've been waiting and waiting, but finally she is whole and ready for adventures!
We didn't have much luck with the Barbie body. So for now she got a stock body. I was hoping she was going to be able to do yoga and cartwheels and climb trees and stuff, but she says it doesn't really matter because this is a perfectly nice body and way more than she's had for such a long time.
I was kinda nervous and so was mum because she never opened anyone's head before, and we didn't want mom to go blind or something, but it was all OK.
"Don't worry, dear; it'll be O.K. I'm not scared."
I was waiting for her to wake up.
She was so excited to stand!
Then it was the moment we've been waiting for. I thought my heart would burst! This was the best moment of my whole life.
...
We couldn't wait to take some pictures so even though it was misty-raining off and on, we went out.
"I have feet! I can have SHOES!"
Not much is blooming (well, actually just these, almost done) but I showed her the garden. We did draw the line at sitting in the wet strawberry patch though.
I'm gonna teach her some stuff about modelling, but she already pretty well gets it, don't you think?
Barbie got her head back, for now anyway. We're all friends, and she's very nice. No hard feelings.
Thank you guys for reading my story. We're working on a special project together... stay tuned!!
Love,
Sunsette

aawwwwww you are gifted, honestly. Reading that & looking at the lovely plastic people I felt like that moment was as sweet & heart-wrenching as if they were people Or perhaps more so Have I mentioned I don't like people, generally speaking & with a handful of exceptions?

I am so moved poor sunsette is always so brave this was the first time she was timid about doing something but that hug was well worth all the hardship. I am so happy for them. I think all the girls must be excited to have a mommy in the house. Grell never looked so compassionate and sweet
