I took some of the crew to the beach today. They are certainly developing some attitude, even roping in the new girl.
And while I was happy with the photos, the bugs were awful. It was so nice out, but no breeze = swarms of little bitey no-see-ums. And nothing like discovering while trying to line up your shot that there's a beetle on your face
Kind of an ignominious way to travel...
>whispers<
"Do you think we could sneak out and go skinny dipping?"
"Nah... don't think mum would let us."
Nice to see they're getting along.
Aya.
Outfit by Offgenemi.
I think you don't want to mess with this badass bunch...
davidd suggested Dawn in her pirate outfit might be a worthy rival for Victoria.
OK, here you go
Dawn is like "Seriously, you're going to try to duel in that outfit?"
"...you know, my daughter says anything can be solved with chocolate..."
...
Don't worry, there was a happy ending.
I think they actually had fun.
Thanks for looking

Your pirate crew definitely has the badass attitude down. They all look so cool.
What kind of bugs are there at your beach?

You DO have an entire Pullip pirate crew! And rival captains!
Those sword duel photos are TOO MUCH FUN!!! über-squee in all caps, etcetera!!!!
I'm sure it must be a considerable challenge to set up so many figures, and to arrange them in "action poses" like the sword duel, but it was so worth it! Thank you for putting in that much effort to create a swordfight scene, and for sharing it with us!
They're not dolls, they're action figures!

I love the shots of them dueling and the final shot where they're on the log. Such a cute bunch!

They look amazing together , I love this crew. They are very stylish and they all have their own character reflected in their outfit . I agree with David I am sure it was super hard to balance them to pose but they look amazing and I look forward to their future adventures

What kind of bugs are there at your beach? Tiny little gnat-y things that I don't usually see. Then there were the olive-coloured beetles that I hadn't seen before either, but then again I'm not usually crawling around on the beach. Mercifully there were no mosquitoes or deerflies (they're around, other days). It's funny, I was thinking, while swatting gnats, "I bet there wouldn't be this many bugs on a beach in Hawaii.... someone adopt me there please..." XD

I'm so glad you enjoyed them It really was hard; I was thinking at the time, "90% of doll photography is posing..." Dae & Victoria both faceplanted in the gravel... then Dawn wasn't looking at the camera; somehow I managed to get all the knitting needles behind all the legs & didn't need to photoshop any out in the foursome shot... Then some guy came walking along the beach (???! there's never anyone on that beach) just as I was swearing because someone fell over...

Her photos are great, and so much setup-work in them.
I hope to do some more pix sometime, maybe some more varied poses, on a less buggy day.

I find the hardest bit is getting a doll to look at you. Because outdoors / reflections / my eyesight - means a lot of it is guesswork and my favourite photos are nearly always the ones where the doll appears to be looking into the camera.
The more dolls, the harder it is, sometimes I pose them looking away or with their back to me, but I still like the ones where they seem to be looking into the camera best.

This! The least little difference in the angle & they're not looking at the camera, and then they either look like "toys" or it's that bad family photo where someone's not looking XD.
I remember school photos when I was little. The photographer had a string on the camera that he pulled out to touch your chin & then told you to hold your head still. I guess that wouldn't work with a doll, because their eyes could still be aimed elsewhere. And yeah, group shots are hard!
