The Adventures of Sunsette -- Nova Scotia again, May 6

I was too! smile  And, there were no blackflies.  Doubly good!

They were really cool mushrooms!
(True, did I send you the photo of you photographing them?)

(01-17-2019, 12:37 AM)TrueFan Wrote: Ha! I don't even remember you taking those backyard photos!
I haven't posted my mushroom and Mississippi photos either. Maybe this will inspire me to. smile
I am pretty sure you were on the computer.  It was the morning before we went to the parrot rescue.
Yes, do post your pix; I'm sure we'd all like to see them smile

And the one with the doll-sized house (but not door) is cute too
Thank you smile

The matching outfits photo is so cute!
I was pretty happy to find more than one copy of these outfits on eBay!  And yes, it's truly dolly kingdom!

Some typical Illinois countryside.

We visited the historic town of Bishop Hill, settled by Swedish immigrants in 1846.  It's a national landmark and state historic site, with museums and a bunch of unique little craft and gift shops.  This is the heritage association's headquarters and a museum of life in the colony.

The shady park was full of lovely huge trees, and cool and peaceful on a hot day.  There is a monument for Civil War soldiers.

A big, big lunch in the bakery.  Should have started with dessert.

And, of course, we had a tour of TrueFan's marvelous collection -- it's like a 3D Pullip catalogue you can browse to help you decide which doll(s) you might like to buy next!
"I feel kind of small here..."

"Wow, eh?!?!!!"

With our visit drawing to a close, some logistical issues had to be addressed.

"Is she serious about us travelling in this??..."

Part 6 -- Beyond PUDDLE -- June 28-29

Our visit at TrueFan's draws to a close, and we are on our way again.  Here we are at Peoria airport.  Weather delays mean sitting around watching the "boarding in 29 minutes" sign keep re-setting, and American Airlines' way of dealing with the worried passengers is to not have anyone at the counter at all.

Didn't notice the sign on the truck till too late or I might've changed the angle!  LOL

Leaving Peoria, finally.  The flight attendant was really cheery and funny and made people feel better about maybe missing their connections.  We'll be OK with a longer layover.

"This was HOW MUCH????"
"Mum, is this enough for dessert?"
Thanks to the delay, I ate all my food and had to cough up $14 for a boring ham on rye bread sandwich and a bottled smoothie.  (That's almost $19 CAD.)  Oh My
The sticker on the sandwich says "I got here just before you."  Ha ha.  Well, Mr Sandwich didn't have to wait for delayed flights.

Toronto again.

A hot and confusing scramble to get on a bus, then to the subway.  We're all a little bit travel-stunned by now.
"Muuummmm... are we there yet??"

Maple Leaf, who hasn't been here on the forum for a while but also went to PUDDLE, very kindly put us up for the night.  We met her dolly (and human) (and canine) family.

Thanks to another too-early flight, it was a short night.  Maple Leaf took us to the airport.  None of us is ready to be up yet.
"Ugghhhh...."

Waiting for another flight.  We all vote for not doing the airport thing on consecutive days again.

On our way again.  The actual flying part, being up among the clouds and watching the tiny landscape below, is so cool.  The airport/customs/delay/logistics thing, is not.

"I've looked at clouds from both sides now...."

FINALLY.  We are all back to the car in one piece.
"Yaaayyy!!"

We STILL had one more place to go, an event in Maine, so we went from the airport back across the border again.  I fully ex.pected the annoying customs people who've gone through my car on 2 of the last 3 crossings to demand, "You just left Chicago yesterday; why are you driving back into Maine?"  The county has a terrible opioid problem and I figured they'd think I was smuggling drugs from Chicago... but they never said a thing.
So we had one more night away, and a quickie photo near the harbour.

And with that, we are finally caught up on PTFCo's summer travels.  Thanks for following along, everyone!
Stay tuned... for....
...more adventures...??  grin

Quite a BIG adventure for some little dolls.

I'm glad you've been able to make it to PUDDLE for the last couple of years. It sure takes a lot of effort on your part to get there and back. I love seeing your travel photos, too.

"Thanks everyone! We're on an ex-pedition. Mum says this is too complicated, Flickr is not working properly, and it takes too much time to post. She's using the dictation on her phone. So we won't be doing much of this I guess."

"Auwe! It's snowing again."
"Mum... It does get more exciting than this, right?"

A hula girl and a sailor? Are you headed to warm tropical climes cooled by gentle trade winds?
They're not dolls, they're action figures!

Ooh, intriguing teaser pic - especially with the one last week of Dawn with a bikini.

Looking forward to further dispatches from the Field

I’m excited to see what adventures they get up to!

I’ve gotten so frustrated with Flickr that I’ve more or less switched over to imgur for my photo posting. They make sharing to the forum a lot easier. I do post all my pics privately there though after my first doll photos resulted in someone suggesting I was a serial killer! :0
