First dolls/figures are kinda special, aren't they. She's pretty. How many times do I say "cool and mysterious lighting"?
Is that one of those secret Sith direction-finding thingies she's holding?

Always had a soft spot for Lagoona because she’s an Aussie. Had issues with the awful accent in the webisodes, though.

Sith direction-finding thingie – okay, cool, I'll go with that!
It's actually one from a set of "steampunk style" gaming dice, like for role playing games, but I purchased it recently to use as an "alien artifact" in a photo-story. As it brought "Star Wars" to mind, I guess it looks alien enough!

Are you suggesting Lagoona's voiceover accent was less than fair dinkum?
You know, I think I only watched one animated movie (the first one) and only a couple of the webisodes. I kept hoping for a complete collection of the webisodes to be issued on DVD, but I don't think it ever happened.

Lagoona was so lovely with her colouring. It’s a pity about the Aussie “accent” she had in the webisodes - it’s one of the worst examples I can remember hearing.
Have you ever said why Lagoona over the more famous monsters of Frankie, Draculaura & Clawdeen? I’m trying to remember and I can’t?

I was fascinated by the inclusion of The Creature from the Black Lagoon among the five original figures. Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolf Man, and The Mummy have always been The Big Four among the classic Universal Studios horror films from the 1930s. Including the 1950s era sci-fi Creature film was, I thought, a clever choice representing an intriguing character from a different decade.
Also, the design of Lagoona was just superb! The first detail that caught my eye was her eyes: enormous, widely spaced, slightly bulging "fish eyes." The fish-like details continued with fins on her arms and legs, and webbed fingers! The finger webbing was a separate color from the hands, and semi-translucent! As I was reading the first article I found online that included pictures, I knew I had to have a Lagoona Blue! At first I didn't really have an interest in the others, although I quickly decided I wanted Draculaura, too, mostly because I thought her name was clever, and she featured an intriguing "gothic lolita" style. As soon as I saw Frankie and Clawdeen in person, I had to have them all, as each featured clever little details designed to appeal to fans of the original movies, details which would have been completely unnoticed by the target market of children. Occasionally Frankie Stein has vied for position as my favorite, as she is probably the most direct homage to the movie origins, but all it takes is a glance at Lagoona, particularly First Wave Lagoona (I find some of the follow-up releases lacking the charm of the original) to remind me which is my true and first favorite.

Imperious... a most excellent term to describe every incarnation of Cleo de Nile!

28 March – Monster High Clawdeen Wolf, Dead Tired: Room to Howl version
Speaking of favorites, Room to Howl Clawdeen may be my favorite wolf-girl release. It's a tough call between First Wave and this one. I like the hair on this release, straight and silky smooth.

I was wondering if anyone would notice that. I didn't see it until after I posted the pic to Flickr and the forum. Shows how little effort I put in to these pics, I suppose.

Or in the nightclub... I think it would fit in with the decor there.
Ha ha, the shorts… One wonders what goes on in that back alley…
