'Kay, like, you officially live in the coolest place in the world!
...I'm still irritated about the cloud cover on the night of the recent lunar eclipse.

But, but... looking at eclipse maps... OMG... you are in the path of annularity for 2023!!!!!  NOW who's jealous!!!!!!!!  It'll only be 10% here.  What's your weather like in October?
I'd chase that.  Dangit, I'd start thinking about booking something now, if I thought we'd be allowed to travel by then without a crapload of hassle.  Wah

Well, that's interesting! Thanks for the tip! Of course, who knows, as you say, if we will be allowed to travel, or if we will even be alive a year and a half from now?

Took some searching to find a map that is detailed enough to show precise locations. That path is quite narrow. My house is just barely inside the path of totality. But an hour north up Highway 89 is right dead center of the path!

Oh, wow! The path of the eclipse passes almost directly over Roswell, New Mexico... where the saucer crashed!

8 April 2024 for you, huh? Although only 97% coverage on the island. You might have to head for the mainland.

Oh, and, in keeping with, y'know, weather, tonight is a "super" full moon, so of course the much-needed rain clouds have rolled in. Lots of clouds, very little rain.

For an annular, it is apparently actually better to be closer to the edge, because you get longer Baily’s beads which are cool, although you do sacrifice length of annularity.
That path is much wider than the 2017 total one. If I recall, that one was only about 68 miles wide.

I would definitely not plan on New Brunswick in April. And definitely want to be somewhere else for that one!

Happy Solstice! I bet the daylight hours are really long 'way up north, there!

The sun sets about 9:15 and there is still a bit of light in the sky at 10.  It's wonderful.  Hence I am often working in the yard till like 9:30 and suppers are 10 or later.

Hehe, we are total opposites there.  On a winter day, if it's sunny and someone says something like "nice day", I'm hard pressed to not growl, "IT'S TOO COLD".  
...actually, that reaction starts around the end of September....

Thanks to Lejays for the inspiration for this week's pix.  I've been talking to them, but the little carrots have really struggled with the heat.  They are so tiny  I'm counting on the new garden boxes' location in the sun to give me another month on the end of the season to make up for it.  So we called in a professional.  This is, after all, Claudine's original vocation.





The beets & chard, however, haven't seemed to need any encouragement.  First round of thinning/freezing happened today.
