Missed de De Minimis by Dis Much
.
As of 1 May, all parcels incoming to the US from China will be hit with a minimum $100 import duty, no matter how low the value. In June the import duty will increase to $200.
The action figure hobby in America is dead.
ZYToys ZY5040C 1/6-scale Men's Military Combat Shirt & Pants Set - purchased from a US retailer.
YMToys (possibly knock-off) head sculpt (similar to YMT-029) - $22 with free shipping from China via eBay. The same product is now listed with a $100 shipping fee added.
This parcel skated in a week under the wire.
I have little doubt that government officials, if asked about this situation, would say, "aren't you a little bit old to be playing with dolls?"
Maybe they have a point.
Or maybe we should start taxing their %^& golf balls, the b4st4rds. But they're all rich so they don't care.
It's always about taking "fun" out of the lives of the little people. And I don't mean the 1/6-scale little people.
They're not dolls, they're action figures!

What, really? So, like, a $5 doll outfit from AliEx.press is now $105?? That’s insane.
Sounds like things are really being made great again.
Hopefully you can find other places to buy from.

That's how it will work starting May first. eBay sellers are already adding the surcharge to their prices.

Some sources say the minimum import duty will be $25 in May and increase to $50 in June. Other sources say the initial charge will be $100 and increase to $200 in June. eBay sellers seem to be going with the higher estimate.
The fees only apply to items shipped from China and Hong Kong at the moment, but Democrats -- not Trump's Republican party, but the Democrats -- want to apply the fees to parcels from all countries.

"Hey, Janie! Are these wires hot?"

Janie & Triv disassemble a dividing wall

While Triv disconnects electrical wires,
Janie continues removing wall paneling

Goodness, are you deconstructing the whole bathroom? Doesn't sound fun.
Wowsers. Well, according to a New York Times article I grabbed before the paywall popped up, "the White House said" it will be 120% or $100. I didn't find anything about the Democrats. But then, I didn't spend a lot of time...
It's funny, so many Canadians near the border have been having packages shipped to U.S. depots for years to save on shipping fees and duty etc. Now maybe it will be the other way round -- have your package shipped to Canada and forwarded... for a fee....
I'm not surprised at eBay sellers gouging already.
That head is $31.83 with free shipping on .ca!

I got an offer on some charms (for PUDDLE necklaces) from an ebay seller in China and the shipping would have been $100.

If that's the CAD price, then it works out to about what the head was selling for on US eBay, $22 or $23 with free shipping.

Yes, it looks like the days of finding fun, inex-pensive little hobby knick-knacks and dolly clothing online are gone for a while -- or maybe forever.

Janie and Triv change the tires on a utility trailer
Well, they didn't technically change the tires themselves. The took off the wheels, had the tire shop do the tire change, and then put the wheels back on.

Maybe you should be in business doing home renovation -- trades are always in demand!
Agree with Fishy about the posing.
