Alliecat I've read about you cat and I hope she is okay. I'm sure it's difficult but don't give up! I know how you feel really. 
My aunt's cat died previous night she was 14 years and she was sick since april. Fortunatelly my aunt has 8 cats more but that cat was her special baby.
Both are cutes and (what was the name of the cat?) she seems very curious watching and smelling the doll
