I’m amused to see something that looks like the top of a snow shovel, in a Florida house. 

 Ha! You're right, that certainly does look like a snow shovel! But it's a regular dirt-digging shovel (or spade), which I just purchased to attend to some projects around the yard. Buying the shovel is probably about as far as I'm likely to get, unfortunately. I'm not as enthusiastic a gardener as you seem to be.
