Yes, always back everything up. Often. Don’t ask me how I know 

 I remember how you know!

The back-up is taking for-freakin-ever! Like, ten hours or more to back up one (of several) photo libraries. Is that normal? While the back-up is in progress I can't use my photo application, and everything else on the computer runs really slowly.
