The Adventures of Sunsette -- Oct. 14

"Hello hello!  We're back with a little adventure.  It's roadtrip-bad-snapshot time!  Yay!!

"We were back in Bouctouche for a few days at the same housesit where we spent New Year's, with the two cats.  We didn't get any pix with the cats because we're a bit tired of cats thinking we're toys, and one of them is into really everything, so we had to stay out of sight in the drawer.  The weather was WAY better though, so we got to have a little look around."


"We found the WoodChip Antiques shop open!"



"It's a combination of the wife's antique shop and her husband, now deceased, 's workshop.  He was known as "Woodchuck" and she is "Wood Chip".  Cute, eh?"



"Look what we found!!  Mum showed Wood Chip this picture and then we met her.  She thought we were really cute.  Of course we are!  Mum had a great chat with her and met her kitty.  The workshop is full of amazing wood plaques he made with tremendous detail."


"Umm, where's the great cabin...?  Really though, for someone who was not, according to his wife, ever a sailor, other than not being able to coil and hang properly, we think he did a pretty good job!"



"Then we went to the Bouctouche Dune, which was MUCH nicer than that January day when it was about -20 and everything was covered in ice!"



"It was very windy again though!"



"Winter storms keep reshaping the dunes, and the boardwalk has had to be rebuilt several times."












"The next day we went to Shediac.  Mum visited some craft shops, and Scarlett & I saw the biggest lobster... in the world!"

"On a very gloomy day, we visited the Bouctouche public garden."



"Mum braved the mosquitoes to take a few pix of Scarlett and me."






"A woman passing walking a dog was too far away on the path to see what we were doing, but she saw Scarlett's bright red hair and asked 'Is that an apple?'  Mum ex.plained.  She thought it was cool."



"The light was really, really going here."






"Look what I found!  Hello, little tree."



"It's me-size!"






"And here we are at the housesit on the little lighthouse where it was too cold to take pictures last time."






"It's a really nice spot when it isn't under a foot of snow.  Too bad about the traffic noise from the bridge just down the river."



"Here's us, on the lighthouse, and Mum!"



"Yeah, no... I don't see our ship coming in yet either."

"Then, we had a somewhat unex.pected and unpreparedfor run over to PEI again -- I mean, we were halfway there -- so Mum could look at another house."

"We missed the best light, but it was still nice and quiet."








"Alas, the house was a crashing disappointment, and a shining example of how full of s**t realtors are.  Had it been put together properly without a What The Heck fixit list as long as Mum's arm, it would be a terrific house and we could have seen ourselves in it.  With the realtor estimating maybe $100K worth of work needed, we returned without a hope yet again."
