Ha! You're right, that certainly does look like a snow shovel! But it's a regular dirt-digging shovel (or spade), which I just purchased to attend to some projects around the yard. Buying the shovel is probably about as far as I'm likely to get, unfortunately. I'm not as enthusiastic a gardener as you seem to be.

2 December - Sounds like a feasible plan, but with limited time here in Florida, can the Pinky Street Tribe really reconstruct their beloved beach house? Will they make the attempt? Stay tuned!

Oooo, yay! I want to see the beach hut! What happened to the first one...? I remember you posted a photo or 2 of it before...?, but since I didn't know you in Pinky St days I would love to see another one. It looks super cute. Definitely must make time for that project
Another time of year my brain probably wouldn't have said "snow" shovel. My enthusiasm for gardening sure got a boost this year with the new boxes. Although people might debate enthusiastic vs. nuts, as I was out in the dark this evening cleaning frozen stuff out of them before they freeze solid, since it was a little warm (9 degrees, rain). Amazingly, despite having been frozen at about -3, the chard was still edible But if I left it much longer it would be stuck in the boxes for the winter. The deer will get the remains. Kind of ridiculous that I chase them away most of the time and then give them a treat.

The original beach hut was too large and cumbersome to take with me when I moved from Hawaii to the mainland. It pained me to discard it. However, if I revisit the project there are several small but significant improvements I will make to the design. I will need to find some supplies in addition to palm fronds, but palm fronds were one of the major supply hurdles.
I can't believe it's been over ten and a half years since I started the original Pinky Beach House project:
27 March 2011
That makes me want to cry. Where did all those years go?
As for "enthusiastic vs nuts" – after dark, barely above freezing temps, in the rain: I can tell you which side I'd take in that debate! (I type this with a straight face after having been picking dry, dead palm fronds out of the "green waste" piles left on the street in the neighborhood.)

3 December - "Son of a biii... scuit eater! You're freakin' kidding me, right?"
As a result of several errors in the original installation, Janie discovers that a "simple" tightening of the drain trap connections fails to stop a recurring leak, so an entire disassembly and re-installation of the drain line – necessitating a trip to the hardware store, of course – is required.

Oh boy… Yes, everything always takes three times as long as you ex-pect.
It is pretty depressing how fast the time goes sometimes… More so when it reminds you of a different world
Well, I kind of had to do that bit of yard work because now it’s turned really cold. However, I frequently work till dark out there.

So many fun photos! Looking forward to what new photo spots you find in the Winter Quarters. Including a rebuilt beach hut for the Pinkies.
We don’t have any really big dolls. Locksley the bear sits on a chair in the bedroom, and the 18” dolls are along the hallway from the front door to the bathroom. (I just got another 2 to add to that collection).
Pullips are all over the house, mostly in the lounge & office at tge moment.
(Haven’t seen werepuppy anywhere since last December, neon sometimes likes my IG photos but I don’t remember the last time - I hope they’re both okay)

I agree. I can hardly stand it anymore.

That's so cute!! You had me off trawling around Amazon, eBay and Aliex-press looking at mermaid statues, and wishing once again I had the sort of house, with the room, for some of them! Thanks for posting
Ah, Carly. Ever cheerful. I can imagine her saying "...and it was THIIIIIISS BIG!!"

You have a house near the sea, so it is the right sort of house. This house is only 700 square feet - 65 square metres, if you are so inclined - so I'm sure you have plenty of space to squeeze in a mermaid figurine or three.

8 December - Pot Head or Head Pot? There's A Difference!

9 December - Lookin' for my lost shaker of salt
(No Pot Heads around here, but the occasional low-key Parrothead, maybe)
("Parrotheads" are fans of pop singer Jimmy Buffett's "island style" music and accompanying fantasy-tropical lifestyle.)
(You knew that, right?)
10 December - A Doll A Day 2021:
10 December - Things Are Really Sh*tty Right Now
Like, really bad, okay? Bad enough that I'm seriously questioning a lot of life choices, including devoting so much time over so many years to stupid Whatever A Day Projects and pictures of dolls - I mean, what is the point, right? But... whatevahs, I've wasted years with this stuff, including this year, so what's three more weeks? Despite my grumbling, I'll be back tomorrow... or in a few days if things keep getting worse and I have to play "catch-up" again.
But... yeah... some really sh*tty sh*t has just come down.
