Nelly, Addie, and (g)Nat plot their escape... or their revenge.
Nelly is more of the 'revenge' type.

Ha ha, like some clothes for starters. LOL
Had to Google that… That was certainly bright and cheery.

Must be getting ready for tourist season?
The shed of doom looks a little less full than in some previous photos though.

Perhaps tangentially related, a major sub-plot in the movie Two Weeks with Love revolves around a corset, so yeah, clothing related.

Perhaps not as bright and cheery, but even livelier and more fun, look for "Aba Daba Honeymoon" performed by Debbie Reynolds from the same movie. Oh, I'll just link it right here:

Integrity Nu Face Erin's New Eyeglasses

The new glasses don't look all that different from the old glasses, but there are subtle and important differences for what I'm intending to do with this character.

The paint work on the glasses looks really bad, all lumpy and uneven. Maybe spray paint would work better, but the weather has been too cold and I don't have any red spray paint.

Back in Ye Olden Dayes of circa 2009 - 2012 it was possible to purchase dolly eyeglasses with variously colored metal frames. Today even finding black eyeglasses with thin metal frames is becoming increasingly challenging and expensive (about $12 per pair).

Kotobukiya was the "go to" brand for nicely detailed 1/6-scale fashion doll eyeglasses, but they're not around anymore.

Doll Stuff I Haven't Had Time to Open Yet

If I don't post here then almost nobody posts here, or at least not regularly. This exercise in futility is become more futile by the day.

Well, we don't all have time to post a photo a day.  I'm just trying to keep the train wreck I live in from going completely over the cliff. I'm doing well these days to get out of bed and a couple of meals a day  slash
It is pretty hard to find nice doll glasses.  I haven't looked for 1/6 but it sure is hard looking for Pullip size.

Goodness -- it's surreal how movies, and our culture, have changed.

Most of us don't, not even me. But these days, hardly anyone bothers to post anything, not even comments.

I simply miss Ye Olden Dayes of the online forum-verse. When I first joined the pinky-street dot com forum ages ago, it was typical to find dozens of new posts every day. Multiple dozens in fact.

That was a long time ago now.

I was looking at some groups on Flickr today, and at the Discussions on those groups. Similar to online forums, participation in Flickr group discussions literally stopped, like, hit-a-brick-wall stopped, sometime around 2012, about the time participation in online forums took a nosedive.

Perhaps not coincidentally, 2012 was the year Facebook hit one-billion users.

Ah well, you're still here. I'm still here. Does that make us dinosaurs? Or iconoclasts, for resisting the "established norm" of Facebook and Instagram? Or are we rebels? And we'll never never be any good.

Cidney Aurum from Final Fantasy XV

.

Apparently this 1/6-scale action figure costume set represents a character called Cidney Aurum from the Final Fantasy XV video game.

I did not know that when I bought it. I just thought it looked kinda cool.

Maybe I should call the character Penelope.

As in... Penelope Pitstop.

As a nickname her friends could call her Penz, because in that yellow jacket she looks like the Penzoil logo.

I'm sitting in the dark, on the porch, because I don't get much time outside that's not full of noise... at this point there's only roaring traffic because at 10:20 pm all the other racket has finally settled down... so in the dark with the screen dimmed, the shadow behind her head made me think at first that she had long hair and her wrench was tangled in it.  Oh boy, I need a change....
Penelope Pitstop is a fun name.  I know nothing about video game characters.

Well, I've made several attempts to contact the forum "owner" and ask if she'd let Anyone Who Still Cares take it over, but haven't got replies.  Whether it's because FB hid the message, or because she ignored it, who knows, but, probably the latter. Irritated
I miss all the fun stuff on here.  Remember the photo challenges and the scavenger hunt?  Sigh....  sad

You can be a dinosaur if you want.  I'm clearly certified Fringe Minority Rebel Scum and that's OK  xp  LOL

Sensible Doll Shoes

An assortment, admittedly a stylistically limited assortment, of ZYToys 1/6-scale doll or action figure shoes.

I've been looking for more character-appropriate footwear for a few of my action figure photo-story characters. These shoes are destined for use by Colonel Kim Kelly, Miss Greymalkin, and Cousin Monday, along with anyone else who might benefit from a fine pair of sensible shoes.

I hope this site doesn't die. It's literally the only nice site on the internet. I'm used to being called slurs and they don't even get the right ones.

Those look well made. It's nice when you can find good realistic-looking shoes rather than cheap plastic ones.

I used to race to a computer on my breaks and lunch in 2002-2004 because the activity on the Lord of the Rings official forum was off the charts. So many people posting.

Apollonia "Polly" Carter

.

1/6-scale action figure:

Apollonia "Polly" Carter
Body: TBLeague S16a
Head: Firegirl FG071D
Costume: CAT Toys, Hasbro GI Joe, and assorted eBay finds

After my little exercise in matching heads to bodies and bodies to heads last week, this FireGirl FG071D head was the odd-head out, lacking a permanent body. During my parts permutations I settled on using a TBLeague S16a body. I purchased another S16a and finally, after bouncing among a variety of bodies and spending a considerable amount of time disembodied over the past three or four years, this FG071D head has a body, clothing, and even a name! Further, I no longer have any disembodied heads or beheaded bodies, so maybe I can stop buying stuff now!

TBLeague (Phicen) 1/6-scale seamless action figure body size comparison.

.

Left to Right:

S44/45 Petite female body, only available in "pale" color; the smallest 1/6-scale TBLeague body

S35/36 Anime female body, exaggerated proportions (trim waist, large bust). Only available in "pale" color. Barbie and similar fashion doll clothes often fit this body.

S40/41 Tall slender female body, only available in "pale" color with attached or separate feet. Similar in size to the S36/37 with slightly thicker waist and less exaggerated bust.

S16/17 Standard mid-bust body, available in a variety of color tones. Representative size for seamless bodies but with a reduced bust size and slightly narrower shoulders.

S42/43 "European" body, taller and more robust than the standard range of TBLeague seamless bodies.

M33 Medium build male seamless action figure body; and "average sized" male body pictured for comparison purposes.

Nice comparison shot. And cool lighting on the previous one.
Yay for getting all the heads and bodies sorted. Stop buying stuff? Nah, now you’ll have to buy stuff for them LOL

I glanced at the Monster High dolls at Walmart. None of them came home with me, but this version of Jinafire was the most tempting.
