New Arrival: Star Wars Action Figure

.

This 1/6-scale Hot Toys Star Wars TMS047 Artillery Stormtrooper action figure was a spur of the moment purchase. I was looking at a discussion about a newer Star Wars figure on one of the action figure forums, which got me feeling all nostalgic and stuff about the original Star Wars movie and how fun the Star Wars franchise was before Disney took it over and saturated the market. I ended up surfing through Star Wars action figure listings on various retail sites and ran across this one, which was apparently somewhat unpopular when it was released in 2022. It was listed at a "good price" relative to what new Star Wars figures cost now. For a number of years I've been kinda-sorta thinking about maybe someday adding a "classic" storm trooper figure to my action figure crew, but it's never been a priority. Now I have a Star Wars storm trooper figure.

This isn't a "classic" trooper, because, duh, yellow stripes, but it's pretty close. Apparently this figure, if what I read is accurate, is based on a variant of the troopers that appeared for a total of five seconds in one episode of The Mandalorian animated series. (Yes, somebody timed the appearances: 2 seconds plus 2 seconds plus 1 second, three shots for a total of 5 seconds.)

Another new arrival! I can't imagine making a Hot Toy$ purcha$e on the "$pur of the moment", but yay for finding something that you'd wanted for a while.
I haven't seen any of the new Star Wars stuff -- no streaming services. I enjoy rewatching the original trilogy now & then, plus the making-of documentary, which makes one think about just how much those movies revolutionized moviemaking, and storytelling. They were fun.
Do these figures have heads under the helmets?

I haven't seen any Star Wars films or series other than the original trilogy and the second trilogy.

I don't have any streaming services, either.

No head under the helmet.

Toolbox Accessory in 1/6-scale

.

I recently acquired a 1/6-scale tool box – CAT Toys CT009B – to further accessorize the Super Duck Final Fantasy mechanic action figure.

No "Bad Gateway" errors at all today. The site is responding very quickly.

Ooh, you are quite behind with the Star Wars content! LOL I've seen all the movies and there's a series or 2 I'd watch if I had the time and availability. Then of course there's the fazillion books. Read some, but there seems to be rather a glut of them.
It's amazing the variety of things one can find in doll scale. Probably moreso in 1:12; I think I even remember seeing a kitty litter box somewhere. Dollhouse cats gotta have their bathrooms LOL

Box o' Surprises

.

And boy, howdy was there a surprise in this box!

I purchased an Integrity Fashion Royalty doll from a member of one of the action figure forums. It was a pre-owned doll in well-used condition, so of no value or interest to collectors who pay hundreds, sometimes even thousands, for mint-in-box dolls. After identifying the doll and looking at sold examples online, we settled on a price of $30 USD plus shipping.

The forum member sent along a number of fun surprises, including some extra outfits, shoes, 1/6-scale accessories, and even a doll-sized sofa. He's a fellow collector who likes to see his un-needed items go to a collector who will use them rather than being mercenary and trying to squeeze top dollah out of things. Thus, the contents of the parcel ended up being well worth thirty dollars.

The forum member also included a second doll, a nude doll body. He said he didn't know what it was but he thought maybe I could use it because of the interesting face.

I knew what it was. I knew right away. It was one of the Integrity Brides of Dracula dolls. And it was way too generous of him to include in a parcel as a "free" bonus item.

I did a little bit of research. Unlike most Integrity dolls, even de-boxed nude Brides of Dracula dolls can command prices in the two- to three-hundred dollar range.

It did not even for a moment cross my mind to simply say "thank you" and accept the unknowing generosity. I sent the seller an email identifying the doll, discussing the potential value, and offering to send it back to him. I also offered to purchase the doll for what I can reasonably afford to pay, which is lower than the low end of the usual price range.

Thing is, the Integrity Brides of Dracula dolls are dolls I've wanted to get my grubby mitts on for years, ever since I saw them in MiskatonicNick's photostream on Flickr ages ago. But by the time I learned of their existence they were already commanding extreme prices on the secondary market. I had completely given up on ever having one. So to suddenly see one in a box of random doll accessories was quite a thrill. And... it's Lucy! Arguably (not arguably) the prettiest of the releases in the series!

Anyway, I'm waiting to hear what the seller wants to do.

Oh, and... the doll I actually purchased is nicer looking than I expected, well worth the thirty bucks alone!

"Where am I? This doesn't look like a storage tub in Greg's garage."

.

Integrity Fashion Royalty Easy Elegance Korinne, a 2011 release, joins the growing Integrity Contingent in The Dolly Dungeon courtesy of one of the members on an action figure forum.

Korinne is being assigned the new "spy name" of... Enigma Cypher!
