According to the first paragraph of Google's now-ubiquitous "AI overview", sometimes it's capitalized and sometimes it's not depending on whether it's a "scientific" discussion. I'm not any more interested than that, in what AI has to say, so -- whatever!
Pic-a-week is never just one... Well, almost never. So a few more of Dawn with her cute new tights.

Dawn looks so happy and cheerful and optimistic with her little smile! She's adorable!
Also adorable: that perfectly scaled miniature Adirondack chair!
I believe Adirondack is always capitalized because it is a geographical name.
That AI response, like most "AI summaries," about "monarch / Monarch" is pretty much useless.
I could launch in to a lengthy, and no doubt profanity-laced, rant about "AI summaries" appearing almost everywhere now, but Dawn has put me in a good mood and I don't wanna spoil it. In short - I keep hearing about companies spending hundreds of billions (with a B) of dollars investing in "AI technology," and what are they doing with it? Social control. They're telling us what to think. Most of us won't bother searching for real opinions anymore or real facts anymore. We will just look at the AI summary, shrug, and call it good.

In French, if I recall, it might be capitalized if it's a noun and not if it's an adjective. Random irrelevant factoid...!
Media & government have been doing that since before AI.... Nobody on FB searches for facts anymore.... do they?

The PrettyTiny Film Company & Modelling Studio has a special announcement.... Our crew has grown!
Please welcome our new addition, Flora Audrey!
She was a bit of a rescue from Dollyteria. I spotted her while I was on PEI and spent too much time looking at the site & trying to figure out how much postage would be rather than looking up real estate like I was supposed to... only to find that she was "in-store only" and not available for international order. What?? Argh!!!
I looked at the site now & then. She was still there. How did nobody grab her? In August, a 2nd listing for her appeared, this one available. What???
I thought about it for a couple more weeks. She was kinda pricey and a bit of a gamble as a custom; no telling how good condition she was really in. And it's been a spendy year. But, she was stilllll waiting for a home, so finally I pulled the trigger, and here she is!!

She's my first full-size custom, and only the 2nd custom at all, mini Crystal being the first.

She arrived in time to meet some butterflies.

Her outfit is gorgeous and so beautifully made.

The pieces are neatly labelled "Audrey". I had already decided I'd call her Flora based on her photos, & was surprised she might already have a name. So now she has two!

I would love to find out who made her and what her story is. I've googled "Audrey Teatime Pullip" but got nothing so far.

Unfortunately she's on an awful T2 body, with a bit of waist melt, and her hands will NOT stay on. Who the bleepin heck thought this was a good design? Srsly, WTF?? So, eventually she will need a new one.

But, she really is sweet! The camera loves her. I kept 38 pix from this shoot, which was most of them. Posting only 11 was an exercise in enormous self-restraint!!
Thanks for looking

She's gorgeous! I don't blame you for giving in to temptation.
She has animal/teddy bear eyes. There was a time when they were very popular. Does that mean she can't close her eyes?

That's a spectacular costume, and the face is gorgeous with those enormous blue eyes and all that curly blonde hair!
Congratulations on the new arrival.
Flora Audrey looks like she would be right at home at some of those historic lighthouses you visit. She has a historical-yet-confident look about her.

Thanks
I posted her on FB Dolly Kingdom but it's not very active these days either, and no one commented with any idea who might've made her. Too bad; I sometimes wonder how customizers feel if they see a doll some customer absolutely loooved and was thrilled to get, then being re-sold. I'd love to compliment their work and let them know she found a good home!

Why can't they close their eyes with those? Are the eyes too big or something?

Been wanting to shoot Kit with a skateboard for a while... I love the MTM body. Didn't get all the pix I wanted because the sun was gone. These are such cute little skateboards; I should do more with them.

Wow! Look at all the stuff that Kit can do! She's an action figure, for sure!
I love that hairstyle!
Cool shoes, too!
Looks like a fun time outside with Kit!

I always love your action photos!
Yes, teddy bear eyes stick out too much. The eyelids can't close over them. They used to be super popular all the same. They work fine in Dal since she can't close her eyes.
A lot of the old time collectors (and customizers) don't seem to be active anywhere. She actually reminds me of a certain customizer's style, but I can't remember her real or online name. If it comes to me I'll let you know.

Interesting about the eyes. I haven't taken anyone's head apart, because if I screw it up, I'd have to MAIL it to someone to help me put it back together

The crew's annual tribute to absent friends... 13 years since Bounty went down in Hurricane Sandy. Capt. Robin Walbridge & Claudene Christian didn't make it. Robin was a dear friend. I think Claudene & I would've been good pals if we'd known each other longer.
Sofia seemed an appropriate choice, being a seafarer; and Claudine on the left is one of the real Claudene's "collegiate cheerleader" dolls; she had a company making these for a while. Too bad I wasn't into dolls when I met her; I had no idea about it till after.
Robin also loved photography. The majority of my doll photos are shot with a lens he gave me.

Got my pumpkin carved a little earlier this year so I could take photos before Halloween. Still posting late though...

...does this focus-check outtake count as spooky, or just 'oops'... ?
There was no H'aloha'ween pineapple this year. Insert long rant about this place and "You Can't Get That Here".... The store has started selling topless pineapples!! I asked if they were taking the tops off and could I get an intact one, but apparently they're coming that way from the supplier now. They can cram more into cargo, but, they rot faster. So -- just dumb. I tried asking on the community FB if someone going away could get me one but it was crickets. I am thinking how very much I would enjoy living somewhere where you can Just Get Stuff.
Anyway, Happy Halloween from the PTFCo crew!

I totally understand. At least I don't have to pay a hundred bucks for a round-trip ferry crossing, but it's still an hour and a quarter drive one-way to "get stuff" other than very basic basics. I don't need to live "ten minutes from Costco" (as some relatives frequently gloat about, as though that makes living in a drab brown clone community somehow worthwhile), but a half-hour from real grocery markets with reasonable prices would be good. I'd also like a house with a real roof so I don't hear the wind blow and the rain beating down.
I have not yet encountered topless pineapples, but if it's more profitable I'm sure it's only a matter of time until that becomes the norm.
Fun set of Halloween pix. I guess I missed seeing these while I was away. I commented on some of them on Flickr.
I really like the "oops" pic -- it looks very ghostly indeed! In fact, the blur reminds me of a "ghost photo" that spooked me when I was a kid, the cover image on the Scholastic paperback edition of Haunted Houses by Larry Kettlekamp.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2935...ted-houses
I realize, now that I'm somewhat more aware of photographic techniques (you know, How Light Works and stuff), that the "ghostly" image was likely a relatively simple time eksssposure, but when I was a gullible kid, I was convinced it was real! I mean, why would anybody fake such a thing, right?
Looks like you made the most of All Hallow's Eve despite being deprived of a H'aloha'ween pineapple.
