It was ANZAC Day here yesterday and Felicity and Theo went out on the porch to pay their respects and hold a sprig of rosemary for remembrance.

ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corp. The day honours all those Australians and New Zealanders who have served in combat for their countries and its held on the 25th April in remembrance of the Gallipoli campaign in WWI.

They asked people if they were so minded to light a candle and hold it in their porch at dawn. There were dawn services held at memorials with just the few necessary people present and streamed.

Even though it is cold and wet here today (we've apparently had one of the coldest starts to May), the gardening must go on.

Daisy instructs Timmy on the finer points of weeding. I think Timmy would much rather be inside where it is both warm and dry.
