I try to do that... when I know in advance the post, comment, or response will be lengthy or complex. But sometimes I'm on a roll, y'know? I think it's called rambling.
So no great loss to posterity.

I always ...OK, usually... switch over if I find myself starting to ramble.  LOL

I hope so. I was revising her costuming a bit to make it less scandalously revealing.

Constructing a Stair Railing

Well, not stairs so much as porch steps.
Wow, the construction never stops at your place. Is it new accommodations or just maintenance on the previous ones?

Long-delayed maintenance.   Whacked

These are always so cute and well-posed.
My front porch desperately needs re-decking. What do these gals charge?? LOL
Very industrious! They really should go into business for themselves smile

It's not the labor charge you need to be concerned about. It is the staggering cost of materials.

Then they'd have to hassle with taxes and stuff.

Radio - it was a thing before streaming was invented.

Sadly, it's both here... when the local handyman-guys charge $35-40 an hour, I know I'm in the wrong business.

Only if they report their income.... xp

Haha... still is.... a while back, in another episode of Why You Should Never Throw Anything Out, I unearthed my nonfunctioning teen-years radio from a closet, took it apart, poked some things and vacuumed out some dust, and now it lives on my kitchen counter and provides tunes regularly.  grin

Meh.

Just not feelin' this anymore.

Tired of all this stuff piled up in bags and boxes and tubs. I don't know what half of it is, and the other half I can never find because it's buried under the first half.

Any decluttering services in your vicinity? Professional organizers?

I'm not gonna pay someone to paw through my stuff and to tell me what I already know: toss it, already!   LOL

And... I am not exactly living in a bustling hub of sophisticated urban yuppiness, so finding a Marie Kondo nearby is not realistic.   yay

Second World War Action Figure

.

Dragon Models
No. 70030
World War II Moscow Campaign
Wehrmacht Infantry (Feldwebel) NCO (Non-Commissioned Officer)
Circa 2000 release

Not every toy, doll, or action figure that is kept "mint in box" appreciates in value. This military figure, released by Dragon Models over twenty years, ago is an example. I purchased this figure via eBay last year... or it mighta been two years ago... when I was looking for a few bits and pieces to complete a quasi-military action figure project on which I was working. It was less expensive (at the time - postage prices have since increased – yet again) to purchase a complete figure than to individually purchase some of the equipment and accessories loose.

The figure has been sitting around in my storage shed for over a year, or maybe two, with the box taking up a lot of space. Today I finally opened the package. The transparent plastic portions of the packaging have turned a deep amber color from age, and have become brittle. Some of the plastic elements of the figure have become brittle as well. One of the wrist joints broke while I was removing the figure from the packaging. I was able to find parts scattered among my piles of clutter to repair the wrist joint, so after nearly a quarter century, this little plastic soldier has been released from solitary confinement and declared fit and ready for duty.

Oh... the figure includes a very nicely made long trench coat, or greatcoat, which is one of the parts I was looking for when I purchased it.

Well yay for getting out of the box. Bummer that there was some deterioration though.

At least an organizer might provide a kick in the ass and some motivation to actually get rid of the stuff. I would find it helpful to have somebody who could find homes for my useable stuff.

Team Diablos

The figure I opened yesterday joined this creepy crew.

My desktop computer, that I use for pretty much everything, stopped working today. I ran every diagnostic and repair and restart protocol I could find online to no avail. It looks like a hard drive issue.

I may be in absentia for a while as a result. I'm using an older laptop computer to post here, which I am able to do because I had already uploaded a photo for today. But I do not know how to import, edit, resize, and upload photos using this hideously cumbersome NON-MAC interface. How people function using Microsoft-based machines I do not know.

So anyway, yeah... I'll see ya around... if I can figure out a way to raise some soul-crushing sum of money to get my computer fixed... assuming it can be fixed... and assuming the backups I have on my also-dodgy external drive will work once I get the computer fixed.
Oh bummer  sad  I hope you had things backed up.  I haven't yet recovered creatively from the loss of the last crashed laptop  Cry
Is there an option to find "last good configuration"?  I saved one laptop by pushing boot menu buttons or something through a bunch of blue-screen prompts to find that, after the ferry wi-fi crashed it.  (Wi-fi button gets shut OFF on the ferry now; I don't even want my 'puter TRYING to pick up the signal.)
Aren't you uploading to Flickr and then posting the link here?  Or do you mean you can't get the photos from the camera to a computer & thence to Flickr...?
As far as editing, I guess you need a program -- Photoshop or the like.  If I recall, FastStone Image Viewer is free and allows for some editing.
I actually can't see your photo.  I tried reloading the page several times.  But might be my browser overstuffed with useless real estate pages again  slash  I did see it on your Flickr. Nevermind, it loaded when I posted.
Hope you get things fixed soon!!
