PrettyTiny Film Company Pic-A-Week 2023! (#52 Dec. 22)
Thank you both  smile

Haaa haaa.  Now I have a photo idea but don't know if I can do it.
They're a variety of sizes from quite small, like maybe 4mm, to big honkin' 1cm -ish ones, (not that I've measured accurately) and they are all ravenous.  sad

Really?  Bummer.  You must've had a lot of rain too.  There were shockingly few bugs -- I worked outside in shorts & a t-shirt a couple of times -- until the June wet weather.  Now it's the worst mosquito season ever, at least at my house.  If I want even a few leaves of chard from the garden, I have to change into long pants, long sleeves, bug shirt, hat... just to run out & get them.  I thought I could make it to the compost bin & back without all that the other night... it was 42 seconds and I got a bite  Rawr!

We had an unex!pected arrival this week, right on Gina's heels.  This wee one was not as definite about her name, so I've been days trying to think of something.  Finally, I can introduce Sidika.  It's Turkish for honesty/sincerity/truth/etc. and since she came from goche moche who's Turkish, I have settled on that for her name.

Sidika enjoys a festive welcome, only to be devoured by a giant venus flytrap a short time later?

Oh, wait... she escaped... only to be chased by giant starfish!

Looks like New Girl is in for some fun times in MosquitoLand!

This is quite the wave of new arrivals! What's up with that?

Aw! Sidika is adorable. I'm sure she and Gina will be good friends (as well as with all the rest of the mini gang).

Yup. A very mosquito-y summer. Also a lot of spotted lantern flies (which I don't think is due to the weather, but is still alarming).

Just the two.  Gina was the grand prize from PUDDLE, and Sidika was a spontaneous gift  smile

... Also a lot of spotted lantern flies...
It's funny how many dolls here seem to arrive in twos.  Or, like the same week or otherwise close together.  I really wish I had kept track of the dates for all of them.  Can guesstimate from the photos I suppose, but it would be fun to know everyone's anniversary.  (But then, to begin with I never ex-pected to end up with a collection!)  Oh My
I had to look up spotted lantern flies.  Wow.  Kinda pretty but they sound very destructive.  I wouldn't ex-pect to see them here as we don't really have anything they eat.  Well, maybe a few apple trees.

Squeaking in at the end of the week again, sigh.  Where does the time go  sad
Quickie snapshot on the porch with the sunset gone into haze.  Sometimes you get picked for a photoshoot just because you're wearing the right colour.

Among many reasons I need a new house is that I need a spot for this Bird of Paradise, which I didn't know it would get That Big That Fast when I bought it!

Exact right color! That's an excellent match!

I can't believe you're growing a bird-of-paradise indoors! I think of them as being large outdoor plants. What do you have it growing in, a bathtub?

Wellll, I got it last fall... it has outgrown the kitchen windowsill in no time and is now inconveniently on the counter and going to be too big for there probably when this next leaf opens.  Then... not sure what I can do with it.  It wants 5-6 hours of sun a day, and this is not gonna work in any other windows, and the back door area is already full of those needing sun.  I don't want it to get scraggly.  I can't believe how fast they grow.  Like a couple of cm a day.

Heheh, she's supposed to be chillin' and gazing off into space...

-----------------------------

Ridiculously late this week, thanks to the latest chapter in the cascading disasters of this horror-movie that is my "home".  On top of everything else that's wrong with my surroundings, this week there is an ant invasion.  Worse by far than the previous one years ago.  I have wasted entire days messing with "foolproof" bait they don't like, and trying to find entry points and nests, with almost no success.  Of course carpenters, so maybe the house will just fall down around me.  It's all gone rather surreal, and I find myself wondering if I've actually lost my mind entirely and am nightmare-ing and not realizing it.
If someone gave me a decent price for this s---hole RIGHT NOW, I'd be inclined to take it in spite of having nowhere to go  Cry

ANYway.  Here are Gina & Sidika being fairies.  I'd like to join them.  I'm done with adulting.  Let's be fairies.

Fairies fix anything!

Or most things.

Well... some things.

Well... the picture looks nice, anyway.

Maybe the incoming hurricane will blow all your house troubles away.

On camera, I mean!
Looks like the little bird might be confused by all that red and gold... which looks just like the feeder!

Another verylateSaturdaynight post.
Here is this year's first hatchling.  Only have 10 this year, and #2 hatched today, so there won't be as many photo opportunities this year.

Wait... they're hatching now? Is that normal? I mean... winter pretty much started today (what with today being the autumn equinox).

It's a rather moody and mysterious image; kinda suggests a sci-fi / horror movie vibe to me.

(So in other words: super cool pic!)
