I learned that Tezcatlipoca sometimes took the form of an ocelot, a spotted jungle cat, hence the spots on the shoes and the furry claws.

Are "crazy type 1 shoes" the kind that fall off, or the kind you can't GET off? LOL
I had to look that up... So Tezca & Lipoca dolls are related then? It doesn't look like they used much of the mythological elements though.
....then I found myself wishing they'd done some dolls based on Hawaiian mythological characters.... Tongue

Tezca's shoes are enormous. They are impossible to keep on her feet without tape or rubber bands. I've always felt they were leftover from something and Jun Planning decided to use them up.

Tezca and Lipoca are a pair, although Lipoca matches Milch the angel better, and I love how Lipoca is one of the prettiest Dals with lots of makeup and she is a devil. She looks like she was given a part in the school play that she did not want.

Ah, Lipoca (aka Red)! She's such a grumpy li'l thing! And so funny as a result... which doubtless annoys her even more!

Laura joined the Pullip Crew in 2018. That's, like, almost eight years ago now. I didn't realize it had been that long.

A Devil of a Doll

.

Dal Lipoca, another doll named after Tezcatlipoca, an Aztec god of human sacrifice! The Pullip-Dal company were on a roll when they released Lipoca and Tezca! And then they dressed Lipoca one like Satan!

Not exactly accurate mythology... LOL
Is she going to help build something with that pitchfork?

There's a large, dried-out cow patty on the ground a few feet behind her. Perhaps she's planning to do some manure mucking.

Wednesday Doll at Walmart on Thursday

.

Monster High "Wednesday" doll on the shelf at Walmart. At first I was pleasantly surprised by the $14.97 price. I thought the "Wednesday" dolls cost more than that.

On closer examination, the "Wednesday" dolls do cost more than that. Almost forty dollars, in fact.

I passed.

I did not want to be posting store shelf photos this early in A Doll A Day 2026, but today was a major shopping and errands day and it was after dark and I was too tired to set up a doll photo.

That's quite a discrepancy. I can't see the lettering: is it just a misplaced box/tag?

Yes, the "Wednesday" doll belongs with the dolls to screen left, which are also from the "Wednesday" series. The empty space to the right, with the lower price, is for an Elsa from "Frozen" doll.

Momoko Doll

.

When the photo doesn't turn out as planned, layer on the iPad filters!

Momoko "Chocolate Cigarette" doll.

Man, have you checked Momoko prices online lately?  Too bad I didn't keep my two Momokos all minty-mint in package! They really have to be minty-mint to have "value."

This Momoko goes by the name "Emmy" when she appears as a supporting character in my photo-stories.

Nelly (Smart Doll Kanata) connects an external drive to the iMac that will be used  to back up the photo library.

Or that's the theory, anyway.

LOL I remember how you know!

The back-up is taking for-freakin-ever! Like, ten hours or more to back up one (of several) photo libraries. Is that normal? While the back-up is in progress I can't use my photo application, and everything else on the computer runs really slowly.
