davidd’s A DOLL A DAY 2021
Addie got the better of the deal, having something/one to land on.

Oh dang.  I never thought.

Smart Dolls: like GI Joe for the 21st Century!
Contrary to reports I have seen online, I have found Smart Dolls to be sturdy and scratch resistant. The "cocoa" dolls are supposedly prone to scratching easily, but I have not thus far had an issue despite a number of "face plants," some intentional but most not. Nor have I had a problem with broken wrist or elbow joints, which is another frequently reported issue.

I recently discovered dark chocolate, caramel, and sea salt candy bars at a nearby market. Next time I am there I shall stock up and then we shall have an "Alliecat Party!"

This time it worked out better for Addie, yes.

27 Smartember - Janie shows Addie how to accomplish a makeshift field repair using
chewing gum and baling wire, just like in the old days.

Good eye! That is a wire coat hanger! It sounds like you're familiar with repairs of this nature yourself!
The paperclip is being employed as an ignition key.

You bet! Who knew there was so much overlap between being a super-sleuth and being a farm hand?

28 Smartember - Let's Kick Up Some Dust!

The baling wire muffler bracket repair (actually fencing wire and a bent metal coat hanger) was a success. The girls tracked down a rubber muffler mount bushing so chewing gum was not necessary.

Haha, of course it is. And indeed I am. I made a hanger for my first little teeny miniature kit from a coat hanger.
I am wondering if All This Work is a daily thing at SCU-HQ or whether you are on a seasonal binge.

Most of these chores are a two to three times weekly thing. The Smart Girlz and I clean a neighbor's vacation rental house during the summer season, April through October, which is how we earn a bit of extra money to support the ex-travagant tastes of the Smart Dollz. Repairing the ATV is, fortunately, not a frequent task. Changing the oil in the generator is done once a month or so.

Isn't there a saying, something about the most dangerous part of a car being a loose nut behind the steering wheel?

Down here you get a probationary licence for 3 years before being upgraded to a full licence. During the period of your probationary licence you have to display a P plate on the front and rear of the car. My father always said that the P stood for peanut. Down here calling someone a peanut means they're a bit of an idiot.

Let me know if it does. Because you'll know if it does!

Yes - she has found three so far. None as nice as the many pictured on the idealized fantasy version of reality that is Instagram, but she keeps looking.
Wouldn't it be ironic if she were to use up her wishes wishing to find more wishing stones?

And speaking of Instagram:
