Neat. Was this a long ex*posure to pick up the glow?

Nope. The glow is pretty intense, especially after being "charged up" with a UV flashlight. It's the most intense glow-in-the-dark I've ever seen in a toy.

MARCH of the MONSTERS: Bratzillaz Sashabella Paws
(Standard Version)

.

The original Bratzillaz dolls were cool in that, although they were mere "playline" dolls, they featured colorful glass eyes.

.

Just for funsies, here's a snapshot of Sashabella from 2018, nearly eight years ago:

Sasha's holding it together better than I am, that's for sure.

And for the sake of nostalgia, a link to the original Bratzillaz theme song video:

That's pretty cool, about the glow-in-the-dark intensity. Was that the only such doll?

Yeah, holding it together... must be nice to be an always-cheerful plastic person who never has to deal with.... stuff.

There were several characters issued in the glow-in-the-dark Midnight Beach series: Jade, Cloetta, Fianna, Meygana, Sashabella, and Yasmina.

I had to look that up just now. The Midnight Beach line was released in 2013. I only ever had Sashabella. I don't remember Fianna at all.

It's one of those things that I could easily be tempted to "collect" again after all these years. I wonder what they're bringing on the ol' 'Bay these days?

"... plastic person who never has to deal with stuff..." other than "glue hair!"

MARCH of the MONSTERS: BeGoths Lunabella Whispers Figure

.

A quick snapshot before I hit the road.

I picked up this BeGoths Lunabella Whispers figure several years ago for a good (meaning cheap) price on eBay, before postage costs became unreasonable. This is a "backup" figure for one I already had, and remains attached to part of the original packaging.

I'll be Away From Keyboard for several days, the first disruption of my A Doll A Day project of the New Year (2026). I suppose that wanting to get a laptop computer to keep up with daily doll posting during my occasional Away From Keyboard periods is frivolous and silly, but nevertheless, I want one. I kinda "need" one, too, for my "work" (such as it is) while I'm away.

[EDIT - UPDATE] - HOLY CATS! A boxed Fianna Finns Midnight Beach figure commands $650 USD (plus shipping) and up on eBay! I feel so stupid for not having invested in -- INVESTED IN -- Bratzillaz Dollz thirteen years ago. Woulda been better than compound interest! A loose Fianna figure with no costume or accessoris is a $200 doll.

Naturally, Sashabella is the least valuable of the Midnight Beach Bratzillaz. But that's okay, because she's still the coolest.

I am wondering what eventuality a “backup” figure is in anticipation of? Serious question!
Your “bricks” in the foreground are styrofoam too? They look terrific.
Hahaha, they can ASK those prices on eBay, doesn’t mean they’ll GET them. Kind of like the delusional pricing on some resellers’ Pullips. Or the house listing I just saw where they bought it three or four years ago and now think they can resell at double the price. I didn’t see mention of extensive renovations or anything.
Yep, a laptop on the road is a handy thing; refurbished ones aren’t that ex-pensive – just have to find a reputable seller. I would not fly with mine though.
Anyway, hope you have a good trip.

Well... so far I have managed to avoid breaking or losing any dolls or action figures during photo-shoots or while in storage. I've lost a few small accessories, but nothing that would necessitate tracking down an entire replacement figure.

If I recall correctly -- which is increasingly questionable at this point in time -- I ran across the Lunabella Whispers figurine for what seemed like an irresistibly reasonable price on eBay, lo those many years ago, which contributed to the purchase.

I should have resisted. Mint-in-Box examples may be found today, a dozen years later, for $29. There aren't even any loose figures listed on evilBay, probably because loose figures are essentially worthless.

For a while, way back when I was "collecting" dolls, I went thru a brief phase where I purchased two of most figures, one to open and one to keep in the original packaging. That lunatic phase did not last long due to both expense and storage space.

Today I rarely purchase "back-up" figures.

The Ameliæ may appear to be an exception, but those aren't "back-ups," they are "crew members."

Okay... let's get things back on track.

Call waiting. No, dumb phone dictation, that is not what I said.
Cool lighting!!

I hear about people doing that with Pullips… I can’t imagine, personally, getting two of everything. But then, most of mine have been second-hand so it couldn’t work even if I wanted to! And I don’t care how much any of them might be worth down the road. Their value is in the fun I get out of them. And that’s a lot smile

Welcome back. Hope you had a good trip.

I've mostly given up worrying about future resale value. Once a package is opened the item becomes essentially worthless in today's market.
